WHAT LOCAL ENERGY FUTURE
DO YOU
WANT TO SEE?

Thank you for visiting my website and being a part of the conversation about our Mountain View Electric future.

American energy innovation never stops.

Right now, we're living through a time of quickly changing technologies, business models, and new options for consumers - perhaps the time of greatest change in Mountain View's 83 years of storied community service.

This generational opportunity comes at a time of rising instability,

with geopolitical conflict causing energy price spikes, extreme weather events growing, and cybercriminals and hostile foreign governments targeting American energy infrastructure.

Together, our next Mountain View Board

can chart a course that guarantees the stability of our energy supply, seizes the opportunities of cheaper and cleaner advanced technologies, and does its part to help grow good-paying jobs in our local economy.

I'd be honored to earn your vote and work

as your next partner on our board.

Thank you.

for service

A Passion

I’m Dr. Paul Wiggins - USAFR First Sergeant retired, complex technology systems manager, and El Paso County dad.

My time in our armed services, including two deployments to the Middle East where I lead teams of 100 personnel, gave me life-changing opportunities.

Since then, I've earned a Masters of Science in Enterprise Information Systems and a Doctorate of Management.

I live my life with a mission to return the favor.

Today, I'm mentoring the next generation of Air Force leadership, helping talented young servants grow their management skills. I've served on a local school executive committee and led projects that teach leadership and life skills to hundreds of El Paso County kids and African American youth each year.

I also serve on our Pikes Peak Area Council of Governments, tackling transportation and electric vehicles issues, am a graduate of the Colorado Governor's Fellowship, and work today for the Colorado Office of Information Technology.

ENERGY COSTS

R e d u c i n g

Foreign instability and domestic inflation has hit our pocketbooks hard. Mountain View Electric prices are set to grow several percent again this coming year.

The single best service Mountain View board members can provide is to run the math on our options and deliver results that lower our bills.

Thankfully, we now have proven American energy technologies that are both cheaper and cleaner than in decades past. Beyond current technologies, the next few years will see a host of new affordable batteries and energy demand management technologies that can save locals millions and secure the grid - if we get proactive about putting them to work.

Mountain View's energy supplier, Tri-State Generation & Transmission Association, is working hard under new leadership to bring down its historically high costs. It's imperative that we work with Tri-State to secure the switch to more affordable energy sources.

TO SAVE

New Options

Electrifying our vehicles and gas appliances can save consumers $2,000-$4,000 a year. But current incentives to make the switch are mostly tax refund-based, which doesn’t work for working people. We need policies that help people get over the hurdle of large upfront costs so they can unlock these even larger long-term savings.

At the same time, electrification is great for the co-op's bottom line, helping grow our business model and creating revenue for important investments in grid stability and cybersecurity, wildfire defense, and more local economic opportunity.
